Ohhhh, what a beautifully languorous week this has been. The gorgeous thing about working 12-hour days is that that means I must only work three days a week. And sometimes on very rare occasions, my four days off line up consecutively, which is what happened this week. Ahhhhh. Despite (or perhaps because of) my many days off, I was surprisingly productive on the blog this week. Check it out.

I'm still (thankfully) keeping the incoming book total on the low end. I broke my fast and requested four books on NetGalley, but only one has been approved thus far. I also found two How To Train Your Dragon books on sale for $3 apiece at Publix. As if I'd pass that up.
Stuff I Bought
How To Be A Pirate (How To Train Your Dragon #2) by Cressida Cowell
How To Break A Dragon's Heart (How To Train Your Dragon #8) by Cressida Cowell
Stuff I Received
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness (via NetGalley)
Lots of happenings this week! Well, maybe no more than other weeks, but I've gotten better at remembering and writing them down. Take a look.
Miscellaneous Happenings
- Nik Wallenda became the first person to cross the Grand Canyon on a high wire without a tether or net. His walk was televised. In other news, we are that much closer to becoming the Capitol.
- Jackson Pearce released the cover for her upcoming book, Tsarina.
- ALLY CARTER HAS A NEW YA SERIES!!! (via Jennifer Laughran)
- Ancient Egyptian creepiness with rotating statues o_O
- 10 more Divergent stills. I still cannot muster any enthusiasm.
- Tim Burton is going to direct the movie adaption of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, which is pretty sweet.
- Apparently, the TV adaption of I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga will feature a girl instead of a boy. I am displeased.
- Ally Carter's Heist Society has been optioned by Lionsgate!!
- There was a big scuttlebutt this week about an author plagiarizing Jamie McGuire. It's all very convoluted.
- Rainbow Rowell sold TWO new books, one adult and one New Adult.
- Teeny-tiny description up on Goodreads for Shatter Me #3! *flails*
- Agents and editors started a running manuscript wishlist on Twitter, so we readers did the same! Seriously, such great ideas, I could die.
